For our second “Architecture at Chicago Somewhere Else” event of the year, we visit Giovanna Borasi, the director of the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA). We’ll hear about the institution’s current thinking and research through the lens of recent and upcoming projects.
Giovanna Borasi is an architect, editor, and curator. She was previously chief curator and curator of contemporary architecture at the CCA, deputy editor-in-chief at Abitare, and an editor at Lotus International and Lotus Navigator. Her exhibitions and publications draw particular attention to alternative ways of practicing and evaluating architecture. Her recent projects include What It Takes to Make a Home (2019), the first in a series of short documentaries on conditions redefining contemporary urban life, and the publication The Museum Is Not Enough (2019).
